Important Notice About Appointments: Please note that I am currently seeing patients exclusively via telehealth, using secure and confidential video conferencing platforms. This allows for greater flexibility, continuity of care, and safety for all patients. In-person appointments may be available in limited circumstances based on clinical necessity and mutual agreement. Thank you for your understanding and continued commitment to your mental health. Cash Payment

Billing will occur at the beginning of each session at a cash rate of $150 per 50-minute session [Hawaii State tax to be included].

Psychological assessments are billed a cash rate of $150 per hour (60 minutes) of work [Hawaii State tax to be included]. A typical assessment takes between 6 to 9 hours to complete (including diagnostic interview, assessment(s), interpretation of the assessment(s), write-up, and follow-up session) and can cost $900 to $1,350. A more "straightforward" psychodiagnostic evaluation (e.g., evaluation for adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)) may take between 2 to 3 hours to complete and can cost $300 to $450. Since each psychological assessment is curtailed to the patient's individual needs, I offer a cost-free (to patient) one-hour intake interview to determine the length of the psychological assessment, as well as the estimated cost. It is the responsibility of the patient to check with their health insurance provider to see if psychological assessments are covered.

I also provide an affordable sliding scale billing option for cash payments based on the need and income level of the patient.

Sliding Scale Cash Rate (50-minute session for therapy/hourly for psychological assessments):

    • < 100% FPL: $75
    • 100 to 200% FPL: $100
    • 200 to 300% FPL: $125
    • > 300% FPL: $150

*FPL= Federal Poverty Level; for the most current FPL please see https://aspe.hhs.gov/2020-poverty-guidelines.

Please note that you may be required to provide proof of income (e.g., paycheck stub).

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
